Public Schools (Good News Clubs®)

goodnewsclub

This summer marks another anniversary of the June 11, 2001 United States Supreme Court decision that allowed Good News Clubs® unprecedented freedom to share Christ in public elementary schools. (Good News Club v. Milford Central School District, details at: ruling )

In the Skagit – Whidbey area there are after-school Good News Clubs bringing Bible stories, character lessons and the Good News of the Gospel at several Elementary schools each year – but many more are needed! Volunteers are necessary to reach these schools. “The fields are white unto harvest” and school doors are open to the Gospel… really! This 2 minute video is excellent.

Please contact our office or our Ministry Facilitator Jeanette Austin   (or 360 424-1014) to learn of the many possibilities to help. Receive training to lead or help at a Club, by serving, giving, praying – and more!

Mat Staver, president of Liberty Counsel, said, “The most positive thing to happen to public schools is the Good News Club. Many youngsters will never attend a church unless the church comes to them.” This view is affirmed by research showing that 80% of America’s children are not attending any kind of church on a regular basis.

This year in the U.S., over 3,560 Good News Clubs were held and more than 133,647 children were reached, mostly in schools, with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!
